This year is our 40th anniversary and although many things have changed over the years Southbourne School of English is still a family business with the same values as it had when it began. Many students have learned English with us and now use their English at work or when they are travelling. We are now welcoming the children of students who came to the school. Later in the year some of the students will interview Mr Gallina and other staff members who have been here for a long time to get their stories about the school.
We are pleased that Martin has taken on the role of Social Organiser – you can read more about him in the staff profile. He is planning the events and trips for the spring and when the lighter evenings and warmer weather arrives it will be nice to spend the evenings outdoors.
The students held an international evening with delicious food from different countries. There were lots of fantastic different foods to sample. We have two Michelin trained chefs at school who cooked lunch at school – it was so delicious that most people ate too much!! There seems to be a food theme this year!
Christmas now seems a long time ago but we had a traditional Christmas Dinner in the cafeteria which everyone really enjoyed. Pip and Tracey cooked a lovely meal and we had waiters too.
