Southbourne School of English in Bournemouth provides English courses and summer camps for children and adults from countries across the world.
I have been using their facilities for 17 years, taking children aged ten upwards, to Beechwood and Bournemouth for several weeks at a time. The purpose is to develop their knowledge of English, both formal and colloquial, and to learn about another culture by visiting towns and cities as well as mixing with people of other nationalities.
The school offers a comprehensive timetable of activities and provides very comfortable accommodation for the children and adult helpers. The staff are very friendly, always on hand if needed and even catering for the different tastes at mealtimes.
The location of the Beechwood School is ideal in terms of space and the proximity to places that they visit. It also includes a swimming pool, tennis courts, football pitches and other facilities.
I also recommend for adults to go to Bournemouth throughout the year, to stay with local families with the school taking care of the arrangements. They ensure the adults are provided with comfortable accommodation and that they can experience the English way of life from the inside.
I feel that both children and adults gain a lot from this experience and I am always happy to recommend their services to others.
Furthermore, I would like to add that lately I have been taking younger children to Southbourne to join the Summer Camp in July and it has proven a very positive experience for the children who profit from the contact and integration with other children all over the world but mostly because they are encouraged to develop their independence and improve their self esteem.
