Meet new friends, use your English, experience aspects of English life,
explore the UK... join the social activities.
The Social Programme is an important part of the school’s life which helps students to make new friends, use and practise their English and experience aspects of English life. From September to June the school is open two evenings a week for a film, quiz, game or bingo. Trips are also organised to the bowling alley, pub, theatre, and other local events. From June to the end of August activities for adult students include; afternoon trips, pub tours, Poole fireworks, open air theatre trips, museum visits, sporting activities and many other interesting events.
Excursions are arranged to cities of interest including: London; Oxford; Bath; Windsor; Winchester; Salisbury and Stonehenge; Portsmouth. Visits to places of interest locally include: English villages and towns such as; Christchurch; Dorchester; Wimborne; Corfe Castle; Burley. The New Forest with its wild ponies is also part of the varied activities programme. Click here for the current excursion programme.
Southbourne is within easy reach of major cities in the UK and local areas of interest. If you need help and advice planning your own trips, the Social Organiser will be happy to help. Golf, horseriding and watersports are also all available locally.
